Once upon a time...

in the heart of a bustling city of Moka while working in the corporate world, there was a little girl dreaming of....no no no there's was none of that seriously. I always knew I was meant to accomplish something greater. My passions have always evolved around fashion, travel, and events. Three things that inspire my world every single day.

Fashion, especially, became the way I wanted to connect with others and share my vision.

Entrepreneurship runs in my blood. My dad (may he rest in peace) had a shop int he 90's and after his passing, I promised myself that I would one day build something of my own to continue his legacy. That dream became a reality in 2021 when I created Nukaba a brand born out of passion and necessity. At that time, Mauritius had no dedicated e-commerce fashion store offering stylish party dresses, wedding guest outfits, occasion wear, Casual Chic outfit and trendy bikinis. I saw the gap, and Nukaba stepped in to fill it.

Why “Nukaba”?

The name carries a piece of my childhood and family memories. My grandma, who loved going to ballroom events, would always say phrases like:

“Kot mo kaba”

“Prêt moi enn kaba ar twa”

“Amene sa kaba la ici”

I would laugh and reply, “Dimoun encore dire sa? kaba?” These moments of laughter and love stayed with me, and when I was brainstorming names for my brand, Nukaba simply popped up. It felt right and it felt like home. This is also the essence of our brand, where every woman, every type and morphology from small, regular to plus sizes women feel celebrated and welcomed in our e-commerce shop.

At Nukaba Mauritius, our mission is to make every woman feel confident, beautiful, stylish, and runway-ready. From elegant wedding guest dresses to cocktail gowns, from chic bikinis to special occasion outfits, we carefully curate pieces to help you shine at every event.

The Story of our

Founder

Bettina Enz, the founder of Nukaba, is specialised in Digital Marketing and E-commerce with a deep passion for fashion, travel, lifestyle, and events. From a young age, she has always been drawn to creativity, style, and new experiences.

Her journey started at College Sainte Marie in Quatre-Bornes, where she first discovered the world of fashion, make-up, and runways alongside her group of friends. This early passion sparked a curiosity that grew but then forgotten later when she decided to follow her studies in the Tourism Industry.

Driven by a desire to explore the world, Bettina pursued her studies in Travel & Tourism by joining Vatel Business School, where she further developed her skills in management. She later entered the Hotel & corporate world, where she built a solid background in event planning, brand management, and marketing.

When Covid-19 disrupted the world, Bettina remembered her old passion for fashion and Marketing. She saw it as the right moment to take a leap of faith. She transitioned into entrepreneurship, combining her expertise with her passions. Today, she proudly manages two businesses. Both grown from her love for fashion, events, travel, and marketing.

Her story comes from ambition, resilience, and creativity, proof that with passion and hard work, dreams can turn into successful ventures. As she said:'' Entrepreneurship isn't for the weak, It's not easy, you have to take the right decisions at the right moments. It's stressful and you should be prepared for failures too. An entrepreneur that never fails isn't a real entrepreneur. The most important is how you react to failures. Each Failure is an opportunity for growth''
